We are delighted to offer this exceptional Patek Philippe Nautilus Chronograph, reference 5980R-001, presented in 18k rose gold and fitted with a warm brown alligator leather strap and matching 18k rose gold folding clasp.
A striking and now-discontinued variant, the 5980R has quickly become one of the most sought-after configurations in the modern Nautilus line.
Introduced in the late 2000s, the 5980R pairs the bold elegance of Patek’s integrated sports design with the mechanical complexity of a column-wheel flyback chronograph. The 40.5mm rose gold case retains the classic Nautilus porthole architecture, complete with a mix of polished and satin-brushed surfaces and a screw-down crown for 120m water resistance.
Its dial is perhaps the most captivating feature — a bronze-brown sunburst gradient, unique to this reference, that deepens toward the outer edges and gives the watch a rich, luxurious presence under varying light. The signature single-compax chronograph register at 6 o’clock balances functionality with an uncluttered aesthetic.
Powered by the self-winding Caliber CH 28‑520 C, the 5980R offers flyback chronograph functionality, a vertical clutch system for smooth operation, and a date display at 3 o’clock. The movement is visible through the sapphire crystal caseback and finished to the rigorous standards of the Geneva Seal.
