The Patek Philippe Reference 5146P is one of the manufacture's most distinctive expressions of the Annual Calendar, combining a highly practical complication with the unmistakable presence of a solid platinum case. Introduced as a successor to the celebrated 5035, the 5146 refined the Annual Calendar concept into a more classically styled and exceptionally wearable timepiece.

This example is the sought-after Reference 5146P-001, crafted entirely in platinum and distinguished by its elegant slate-grey dial. The 39mm case offers the proportions and restraint for which Patek Philippe is renowned, while the characteristic sector-style arrangement of the calendar indications gives the dial a refined sense of symmetry and depth.

The Annual Calendar displays the day, date and month, automatically accounting for the different lengths of the months and requiring correction only once a year, at the end of February. A moon-phase display at six o'clock completes the calendar indication, adding an additional layer of traditional Patek Philippe watchmaking without compromising the clean, balanced character of the dial.
