PANERAI Radiomir "California", Reference PAM00424, 3 Days, Stainless Steel, California Logo Dial, Box and Papers, Year 2014, Excellent

The California dial is one of the most debated details in Panerai's entire history, tracing back to the Rolex-made reference 3646 from the 1940s, and the PAM00424 was the first time Panerai put this once ultra-rare layout onto a regular production Radiomir.

The 47mm polished stainless steel case keeps the brand's original cushion shape and wire lug construction, going straight back to Panerai's earliest military-issued designs, with a screw-in crown protected by the signature lever guard and a sapphire exhibition case back.

The black dial splits Roman numerals across the top half and Arabic numerals across the bottom, a combination that shouldn't work on paper but has become one of Panerai's most recognizable looks, finished with a railway minute track and luminous sword hands.

Inside runs the caliber P.3000, Panerai's own manufacture movement that debuted on this very reference, hand-wound with twin barrels delivering a genuine 72 hours, or three days, of power reserve.
