Panerai marked its 70th anniversary of Italian naval heritage with a piece that leans fully into the brand's diving instrument roots while dressing it in one of its most distinctive proprietary materials, a genuinely limited edition rather than just another colorway.

The 44mm case is crafted from Goldtech, Panerai's own 18k rose gold alloy blended with platinum and copper specifically to resist the fading standard rose gold suffers over time. It pairs with a blue rubber bezel and matching blue leather strap secured with a rose gold pin buckle, giving the whole watch a coherent, deliberately sporty take on precious metal Panerai rarely offers. Just 70 pieces were made, one for each year since the brand's naval history began, making genuine examples like this one properly scarce.

The blue dial follows Panerai's traditional sandwich construction, two superimposed plates with the lower one fully luminous, so the numerals and markers glow as solid shapes rather than thin painted lines, a detail that traces straight back to the brand's original underwater instrument watches. A small seconds subdial sits at nine o'clock, and the trademark crown protecting lever locking device still guards the screw down crown at three, exactly as it has since Panerai's earliest Luminor cases.

Inside runs the caliber P.9010, Panerai's own automatic movement with three days of power reserve, visible through the sapphire display back, giving this anniversary piece real mechanical substance behind the eye catching material.
