Created in tribute to Alfred Helwig—the legendary German watchmaker who invented the flying tourbillon in 1920—this masterpiece epitomizes Glashütte Original’s devotion to traditional craftsmanship, technical innovation, and understated elegance. Produced in a strictly limited edition, the Tourbillon 2 stands among the finest achievements of contemporary German haute horlogerie.

The 40mm platinum case exudes refinement and gravitas, with a polished finish that enhances the noble character of the metal. The silver-grained dial features a harmoniously balanced layout with a flying tourbillon visible at 6 o’clock, small seconds integrated within the cage, and elegant Roman numerals paired with blued steel hands. Every element is designed with classical precision and aesthetic purity.

At the heart of this exceptional timepiece lies the Glashütte Original Caliber 41-02, a manually wound movement entirely developed and manufactured in-house. It showcases traditional German watchmaking hallmarks: three-quarter plate, gold chatons, blued screws, hand-engraved balance cock, and, most notably, the flying tourbillon—suspended only from below, creating the illusion of weightlessness.
