VACHERON CONSTANTIN Overseas, Reference 42050/423J, 35mm, 18k Yellow Gold, Rare Blue Tritium Dial, Box and Papers, Year 1998, Germany, Very Good

Designed in the mid-1990s by Dino Modolo alongside Vacheron's own Vincent Kaufmann, the original Overseas gave the manufacture its answer to the integrated steel sports watch, produced only briefly between 1996 and 2004, and this 35mm gold example is the compact expression of that first generation design.

The 18k yellow gold case carries broad shoulders and an integrated bracelet with folding deployant clasp, its notched bezel a direct homage to the Maltese Cross, Vacheron's own emblem, while the case back depicts the Amerigo Vespucci three-masted ship.

The dial is a rare deep blue sunburst with applied baton hour markers, a T-Swiss Made -Tk confirming genuine tritium lume.

Inside runs the automatic caliber 1310, Vacheron's own ultra-thin movement with a gold rotor, 27 jewels, quickset date and hacking seconds, delivering 46 hours of power reserve from just 3mm of movement height.
