Vacheron Constantin Overseas Moon Phase Retrograde Date Ref. 4000V/210A-B911, Stainless Steel, Blue Dial, 2024, Like New
The Overseas is Vacheron Constantin’s luxury sports watch, and its roots go back to the legendary “222” from 1977. In 2023 the house brought one of its great signatures into the collection for the first time: the retrograde display. The Moon Phase Retrograde Date is the first Vacheron Constantin sports watch with a retrograde complication, and it was launched as a boutique exclusive. It combines the relaxed character of the Overseas with a touch of poetry and technical refinement.
The 41 mm case is made of stainless steel and measures 10.48 mm in height. The bezel’s six-sided shape is inspired by the Maltese cross, Vacheron Constantin’s emblem, and the interplay of polished and satin-finished surfaces gives the steel remarkable depth. The watch is water resistant to 50 meters, and through the sapphire caseback you can admire the movement.
The lacquered blue dial has a sunburst finish that changes beautifully with the light. Vacheron Constantin dedicates each half of the dial to one complication. In the upper half, the date hand sweeps across an arc and jumps back to the beginning at the end of the month. In the lower half, two 18 karat gold moons travel across a starry sky. This precision moon phase is so accurate that it only needs adjusting once every 122 years. The applied 18 karat gold hands and markers are filled with blue luminous material.
Inside works the self-winding manufacture caliber 2460 R31L/2 with around 40 hours of power reserve. It carries the Hallmark of Geneva, one of the strictest quality seals in watchmaking.
The watch comes with three straps: the integrated steel bracelet, a dark blue rubber strap and a dark blue calfskin strap. Thanks to Vacheron Constantin’s interchangeable system, they can be changed by hand in seconds, without any tools.
The VC dates from 2024 and is in like-new condition. It comes as a full set with box and papers, copy of invoice.
