ROLEX VINTAGE SUBMARINER – Ref. 5513 – Stainless Steel – 40mm – Automatic – Tritium “Spider” Dial – 1985 – Very Good Vintage Condition

We are delighted to present this iconic Rolex Submariner, reference 5513, crafted in stainless steel with its originally steel Oyster bracelet (J10). The watch is featuring the highly collectible matte gloss “Spider” dial with tritium luminous markers, dating from 1985.

Originally introduced in 1962, the Submariner 5513 stands as one of the most celebrated dive watches ever made, embodying Rolex’s enduring dedication to precision, durability, and timeless design. By the mid-1980s, the model evolved into its final configuration—featuring a gloss dial with white-gold surrounds for the indices. On early examples like this one, a rare lacquer aging process resulted in the distinctive “Spider” effect—a delicate, web-like cracking of the dial surface, now prized by collectors for its unique character and authenticity.

The 40mm stainless steel Oyster case showcases the robustness and balance that have made the Submariner a design benchmark for over half a century. It retains its bi-directional rotating bezel with the classic black insert, Triplock screw-down crown, and the signature Rolex Oyster caseback, ensuring water resistance and resilience.

Powered by the Rolex Caliber 1520, this self-winding movement is renowned for reliability and precision, reflecting the uncompromising quality that defines Rolex tool watches.

Condition: Very good vintage condition with strong case proportions, beautifully aged tritium lume, and a richly patinated “Spider” dial showing unique, natural cracking.
