We are pleased to present this exceptional vintage Rolex Submariner Date, Reference 1680, featuring the highly sought-after Mark II “Red Submariner” dial, housed in a stainless steel case and fitted with its original folded Oyster bracelet with Flip-Lock clasp (9315/580).
This early 1969 “Meters First” tritium dial example showcases the distinctive Mark II configuration, easily identified by the elongated “F” in "Feet". Most notably, it features a stunningly aged silver-grey bezel insert, known among collectors as the “Ghost Bezel”—a striking and naturally faded detail that enhances its vintage character.
Bearing a 2.3 million serial number, this piece stands as a testament to Rolex’s golden era of tool watch production and remains one of the most iconic diver’s watches ever made. A true cornerstone of any serious Rolex collection—no assemblage is complete without a fine Red Sub.
