We are pleased to offer this exceptional Rolex Vintage GMT-Master Ref. 16700, an iconic and highly collectible reference that represents the final evolution of the original GMT-Master line before the transition to the GMT-Master II.
Produced in 1993, this watch embodies the perfect balance between vintage charm and modern Rolex reliability.
Made in stainless steel, the 40 mm Oyster case features classic proportions that have made the GMT-Master one of Rolex’s most recognizable tool watches. The bidirectional rotating bezel, fitted with the legendary red and blue “Pepsi” aluminum insert, was originally designed to allow pilots to track multiple time zones and remains one of the most celebrated bezel designs in watchmaking history.
The flawless black tritium dial displays beautifully aged luminous hour markers and hands, offering warm patina that is unique to vintage Rolex examples from this era. The applied white gold surrounds, Mercedes hands, and red GMT hand provide excellent legibility and strong visual contrast, while the tritium lume preserves the authentic character collectors seek in a true vintage GMT-Master.
