We are delighted to present this excellent vintage Rolex Daytona Cosmograph, reference 6263, in solid 18k yellow gold with black crocodile strap and gold pin buckle.
The reference 6263 stands among the most revered Daytona models ever produced, especially in precious metal. This example showcases the perfect combination of sporty chronograph functionality with the unmistakable warmth and prestige of yellow gold.
The 37mm Oyster case retains strong proportions with sharp lugs and its original gold screw-down pushers and crown. The black acrylic bezel, marked with a tachymeter scale, remains in excellent condition and provides a bold contrast to the gold case.
The original matte black tritium dial is beautifully preserved, featuring crisp gold subdials and perfect tritium hour markers and hands. The "Cosmograph" text placement underlines this as a classic early '80s execution — a favorite among collectors for its understated balance and historical importance.
Powered by the legendary hand-wound Valjoux 727 movement, the 6263 was the last of the manually-wound Daytonas before Rolex transitioned to automatic calibers, making it a significant reference in the model's evolution.
