ROLEX VINTAGE DAYTONA COSMOGRAPH “FUERZA AÉREA DEL PERÚ” – Ref. 6263 – Tritium Sigma Dial – Military Emblem – Circa 1975 – Box - Exceptionally Rare
We are proud to present this exceedingly rare ROLEX DAYTONA COSMOGRAPH Ref. 6263, a historically important example issued to the Fuerza Aérea del Perú (Peruvian Air Force). This military-commissioned Daytona is among the most elusive and coveted variants of the reference — a remarkable blend of Rolex’s golden era of chronograph manufacture and rich aviation heritage.
The Ref. 6263, introduced in the early 1970s, represented the pinnacle of manual-wind Daytona production with its screw-down pushers, high-contrast tachymeter bezel, and robust Oyster case. The present example carries the official Peruvian Air Force insignia on its caseback and retains its original tritium dial, making it a historically charged and visually compelling collector’s piece.
Key Features:
Stainless steel Oyster case, 37mm, with screw-down pushers and black acrylic 200 tachymeter bezel
Original silver color Sigma singed tritium dial with contrasting black subdials and correct period typography
Manual-winding Valjoux 727 chronograph movement
Caseback engraved with the official “FUERZA AÉREA DEL PERÚ”
Original Rolex crown and pushers, correct for the reference and production year
Production year: circa 1975 (serial confirms)
Oyster braclet from a later production around 1985
Steel peruvian military emblem - Fuerza Aerea Del Peru
Original Rolex green box from the years
This 6263 exemplifies the rare intersection of Rolex tool-watch purpose and military provenance, a combination that places it among the most collectible vintage Daytonas ever produced.
The watch remains in very good vintage condition and an untouched, evenly aged tritium dial.
“A true grail for the discerning collector — the Peruvian Air Force Daytona represents the perfect fusion of Rolex chronograph
