ROLEX Submariner Date "Kermit", Reference 16610LV, Stainless Steel, Box and Papers, Year 2009, EU Papers, Full Set, NOS, Stickers On, Safe Queen
It took Rolex fifty years to bring green into the Submariner family, and when it finally did in 2003, the reaction was anything but quiet. Introduced to mark the model's 50th anniversary, the 16610LV became one of the most polarizing, and ultimately most beloved, Submariners the brand has ever released.
The 40mm case is built from 904L steel with the same sapphire crystal, Cyclops lens and Triplock crown as the standard 16610, so nothing about the watch's underlying toughness was sacrificed for the sake of the anniversary edition. What changed was the bezel, fitted with a bright green aluminum insert that gave the watch its instantly recognizable nickname, alongside a revised black maxi dial with enlarged applied markers and beefed up Mercedes hands, a detail unique to this reference among the four digit Submariners.
Inside runs the caliber 3135, Rolex's dependable in-house automatic movement with 48 hours of power reserve and COSC chronometer certification, the same engine that powered the standard Submariner throughout this era.
This example is genuinely new old stock, unworn with factory stickers still intact, complete with box and EU papers.
