We are pleased to offer this very attractive and highly collectible Rolex Oyster Perpetual Ref. 1003, a quintessential vintage reference that perfectly reflects Rolex’s understated elegance and mechanical excellence of the early 1960s.
Produced in 1960, this Oyster Perpetual originates from a period when Rolex focused on pure design, functional clarity, and uncompromising watchmaking quality. Today, the Ref. 1003 is regarded as one of the most elegant executions within the Oyster Perpetual line and is highly appreciated by seasoned collectors.
The stainless steel Oyster case measures 34 mm and features beautifully balanced proportions, making it exceptionally versatile and timeless. The combination of polished and brushed surfaces gives the watch a refined presence on the wrist, suitable both as a daily companion and as a classic dress watch.
A true highlight of this watch is its silver dial, fitted with distinctive Dauphine hands and arrow-shaped hour markers. This unusual index configuration gives the watch a unique and characterful appearance, setting it apart from more common dial layouts within the reference. Clean typography and a well-balanced design ensure excellent legibility while emphasizing the functional roots of the Oyster Perpetual.
Powering the watch is the renowned Rolex in-house Caliber 1560, an automatic chronometer movement celebrated for its robustness, accuracy, and long-term reliability. The movement underwent a complete overhaul in July 2025 and is in excellent technical condition.
The watch is fitted with a brown leather strap made of genuine cowhide, which perfectly complements the warm vintage aesthetic and enhances the overall elegance of the piece.
