The Oyster Perpetual has a special place in Rolex history. Its origins can be traced back to 1926, when Rolex introduced the original Oyster, one of the world's first waterproof wristwatches. The name "Perpetual" was subsequently associated with Rolex's self-winding movement technology, introduced in 1931 with the invention of the Perpetual rotor. 

The modern Oyster Perpetual combines these two fundamental Rolex innovations: the waterproof Oyster case and the self-winding Perpetual movement. The result is a watch that deliberately focuses on the essentials — hours, minutes and seconds — while offering the robustness, precision and finishing expected from Rolex.

Introduced in 2020, the Oyster Perpetual 41 brought the iconic collection into a contemporary 41 mm format. The Ref. 124300 is crafted from Rolex's proprietary Oystersteel, with a domed bezel, Oyster bracelet and the unmistakable clean aesthetic of the Oyster Perpetual.
