The Explorer has always stood for restraint over spectacle, and the 124270 brings that philosophy back to its original 36mm proportions, a direct homage to the very first Explorer that debuted in 1953.
The Oystersteel case measures 36mm, 43mm lug to lug, with a smooth polished bezel and Twinlock screw-down crown, rated to 100 meters water resistance and worn on the Oyster bracelet with an Oysterlock safety clasp and Easylink extension.
The black dial keeps the Explorer's signature 3, 6 and 9 Arabic numerals filled with Chromalight, paired with Mercedes hands, a layout that has barely changed since the model's earliest days for good reason.
Inside runs the caliber 3230, Rolex's modern movement architecture with a Chronergy escapement and Paraflex shock absorbers, delivering around 70 hours of power reserve and full Superlative Chronometer certification.
