Introduced to withstand the immense pressures of the deep ocean, this robust timepiece features a substantial 44mm Oyster case crafted from corrosion-resistant 904L stainless steel, paired with a thick, domed sapphire crystal designed to handle extreme hydrostatic loads.

At the heart of the Deepsea's diving capability is the Ringlock System, an innovative case architecture engineered by Rolex that allows the watch to conquer depths of up to 3,900 meters. This system includes a nitrogen-alloyed stainless steel central ring that supports the crystal and case back, working in tandem with a helium escape valve integrated into the side of the case to safely release built-up gases during decompression phases.

The unidirectional rotatable bezel is fitted with a durable black Cerachrom ceramic insert, featuring platinum-coated numerals and graduations that resist fading and scratching. On the deep black dial, large Chromalight hour markers and hands emit a long-lasting blue luminescence for optimal legibility in dark underwater environments.

Powering the reference 116660 is the automatic mechanical Calibre 3135, a certified Swiss chronometer equipped with a paramagnetic blue Parachrom hairspring for enhanced resistance to shocks and temperature variations. Fitted to an Oyster bracelet equipped with both the Glidelock extension system and an Fliplock extension link, the watch can be adjusted seamlessly over a diving suit without the need for tools, rounding out a timepiece built strictly for professional subaquatic exploration.
