Introduced in 2016, the 116900 marked a bold new chapter for the Air-King, reimagining the classic pilot’s watch with a larger case, upgraded movement, and a distinctive instrument-inspired dial. The 40 mm Oystersteel case offers exceptional durability and presence on the wrist, featuring Rolex’s signature combination of satin-brushed surfaces and polished accents. The case construction includes magnetic shielding borrowed directly from the Milgauss, giving the watch professional-grade resistance to magnetic fields.

The black dial is one of the most recognizable features of the 116900. Designed with aviation legibility in mind, it pairs bold applied Arabic numerals at 3, 6, and 9 with prominent minute markers for quick reading in flight. The Rolex coronet and signature “Air-King” logo appear in vivid contrasting colors, adding a subtle yet unique touch of character.
