PATEK PHILIPPE Chronograph, Reference 130, 18k Yellow Gold, Silver Dial, Tachymeter, Extract BJ 1944, Sold March 1946, Excellent & All Original Condition

Introduced in 1934, the reference 130 was Patek Philippe's first serially produced chronograph, and it went on to define an entire genre of vintage chronograph collecting across nearly thirty years of production, worn today with the same quiet confidence it carried in the 1940s.

The 18k yellow gold case measures a compact 33mm, its long lugs and thin stepped bezel giving the watch a wrist presence closer to a modern 36mm piece, finished with a case hallmark that remains genuinely crisp for a piece of this age, a detail collectors specifically look for when judging originality.

The original silver dial carries a tachymeter scale cleverly integrated with the railroad seconds track, framing the two chronograph counters and applied gold markers with real clarity. Exactly the balance of function and elegance that made the 130 such an important reference in Patek's own chronograph history.

Inside runs the caliber 13''' CH, a manual winding movement based on a Valjoux ébauche and finished in house by Patek Philippe, the same architecture that powered the 130 throughout its long production run.

This example is offered as:

- Excellent, all original condition

- Produced in 1944, sold in March 1946

- Extract of the Archive

- PP service report 2016

"Patek's first serial chronograph, still wearing its original dial and a hallmark as crisp as the day it was struck.
