Patek Philippe Nautilus Ref. 3800/1J-001, 18k Yellow Gold, Ceramic White Dial, 2000, Germany, Patek Philippe Service Oct. 2026
When the Nautilus first appeared in 1976, its 42 mm case was so large that people called it the “Jumbo”. In 1981 Patek Philippe introduced a smaller version, the reference 3800, with a 37.5 mm case. It kept all the details of Gérald Genta’s design and made the Nautilus wearable for a much wider audience. The 3800 stayed in the collection for a quarter of a century, and today collectors appreciate it more than ever, because its proportions feel perfectly balanced on the wrist.
The case is made of 18 karat yellow gold and carries all the classic Nautilus features: the rounded octagonal bezel, the characteristic “ears” on the sides and the integrated gold bracelet with its satin and polished links. The design was inspired by the portholes of ocean liners, and in solid gold it takes on a warm, luxurious character. The watch has a satisfying not to heavy weight and closes with a Nautilus folding clasp.
The quite rare plain ceramic white dial is something many Nautilus fan are looking for. Its clean, bright tone makes a beautiful contrast to the warm yellow gold and gives the watch a fresh, elegant look that is rarely seen on a gold Nautilus. The applied gold baton markers and hands stand out clearly against the white, and the date window sits at 3 o’clock.
Inside works the self-winding Patek Philippe caliber 335 SC with central seconds and date, a reliable and finely finished movement.
The watch dates from 2000 and was delivered for the German market. It is in excellent condition and was serviced by Patek Philippe in 2026. It comes with the orignianl box, papers and the service papers.
„An awesome gold Nautilus in its most balanced size, with an anmazing clean dial and freshly serviced by the manufacture!"
