True Mark I Dial & Movement: Featuring, the first-generation solid silver dial, early "stepped" case architecture, and low serial movement – all hallmark features sought after by seasoned collectors.
This is one of the earliest watches produced by Lange post-revival, making it a direct link to the rebirth of Germany’s most revered watchmaker. When A. Lange & Söhne was preparing a relaunch, they decided to make a splash with a truly unique watch, the Lange 1. The hallmarks of this watch and movement are the asymmetrical arrangement of the dial and the large date with two windows. The latter complication was designed in the style of the five-minute clock at the Dresden Semper Opera House in 1841 and earned the new manufactory its first patent. Although the dial is not centered, it features a pattern. The hour and minute dials, the date window and the sub-dial for the seconds form the apex and the two legs of an isosceles triangle, with the power reserve indicator centered on this base.
If you're looking for the purest expression of the Lange 1 – the watch that launched a legacy and shaped an industry – this Ref. 101.005 in platinum is it. With a fresh 2025 Lange service, this piece is not only historically important, it is ready to be worn and appreciated for generations to come.
