Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Grand Taille Duoface Night & Day Ref. 270.2.54, 18k Rose Gold, WEMPE 2000, JLC Service October 2026

The Reverso was created in 1931 for polo players who wanted to protect the glass of their watches during a match. The case could simply be flipped over. In 1994 Jaeger-LeCoultre took this idea one step further and gave the back of the case a second dial of its own. The result was the Reverso Duoface, one watch with two faces and two time zones, driven by a single movement.

The rectangular Grand Taille case is made of 18 karat rose gold and carries the famous Art Deco gadroons along its upper and lower edges. It slides and turns smoothly in its cradle, and every time you flip it, you choose which face you want to show. That simple movement is a small pleasure in itself, and it never gets old.

The front shows a classic Reverso silver dial with Arabic numerals and slim blue hands, elegant and perfectly suited for the office or an evening out. Flip the case over and a black dial appears on the back. It shows a black dial with luminous hands and umerals - a second time zone together with a day and night indicator, so you always know whether it is morning or evening at home while you are traveling. The two faces could hardly be more different, and that contrast is exactly what makes the Duoface so appealing.

Inside works the manually wound Jaeger-LeCoultre caliber 854, developed specifically for this watch. It drives both dials at once and allows the second time zone to be set independently.

The watch sits on a new black alligator strap from Jaeger-LeCoultre with a rose gold folding clasp.

The watch dates from 2000 (WEMPE) and is in excellent condition. It was serviced by Jaeger-LeCoultre in October 2026 and comes with box, papers, describtion booklet  and the service papers. 24 month of JLC warranty from now!
