We are proud to offer this very good IWC Schaffhausen Vintage Rectangular Gentlemen’s Watch in 18k rose gold with its black crocodile strap and a gold pin buckle.
What a superb example of Art Deco-era horology crafted in solid 18k rose gold. Beautifully proportioned and unmistakably elegant, this timepiece captures the refined spirit of 1940s cocktail culture.
Encased in a squarer case with a rare and finely decorated profile, this watch exemplifies the minimalist sophistication of the era. The gracefully arched plexiglass crystal further enhances its vintage charm and is a hallmark of the so-called cocktail watches worn by the well-heeled in the blue hour of evening gatherings.
The dial is an exercise in quiet sophistication—featuring a small seconds subdial at 6 o’clock, with Roman numerals at 12, 3, and 9, complemented by applied gold dot hour markers. The understated elegance recalls the style of mid-century icons such as Clark Gable, David Niven, and Fred Astaire.
