Long before quartz reshaped the industry, IWC built its reputation on dress watches like this one, understated in size but exceptional in mecanical engineering, powered by the manufacture's most celebrated manual wind movement of the era.
The case is 18k rose gold with the elongated spider lug design, a sculptural, slightly curved lug style that gives the watch real Art Deco character against its otherwise restrained stepped Calatrava-style silhouette.
The dial keeps a clean, classic dress watch layout, letting the case shape and warm rose gold tone carry the visual weight rather than any complication or busy printing.
Inside runs the caliber 89, one of IWC's most respected manual wind movements, prized for its precision, durability and clean in-house architecture, a genuine workhorse caliber that IWC produced across multiple decades and countless case variations.
