A Vintage Stainless Steel Chronograph with Valjoux 7734 Movement, Circa 1970
We are pleased to present this very well preserved Camaro, reference 73443 in stainless steel with leather strap and steel Heuer pin buckle.
The watch is dating from approximately 1970. Named after the Chevrolet Camaro to capture the spirit of American muscle and motorsport.
Crafted in stainless steel, the 37mm cushion-shaped case combines sharp lines with subtle curves, giving the Camaro a unique presence on the wrist. Unlike its Carrera and Autavia siblings, the Camaro was produced for only a brief period between 1968 and 1972, making surviving examples increasingly scarce—particularly those in good original condition.
This reference 73443 is powered by the manual-winding Valjoux 7734, a robust chronograph caliber with a date function at 6 o’clock. The dial configuration typically features two sub-dials (30-minute counter and running seconds).
The present example retains its original silver tritium dial, period-correct handset, and original crown and pushers. The case shows honest light wear.
With its motorsport pedigree, compact dimensions (37mm) , and limited production span, the Camaro represents one of the most compelling vintage chronographs from Heuer's golden era
