GIRARD PERREGAUX 1966, Reference 49535, 18k Rose Gold, Full Calendar Moon Phase, Silver Dial, Black Alligator Strap, Box and Papers, Year 2011
We are proud to offer you this very good Girard Perregaux 1966 with its full set of box and papers.
The 1966 collection is Girard-Perregaux at its most classic, and this reference shows exactly why. It takes the clean lines the brand became known for in the 1960s and adds one of the complications collectors love most, a full calendar with moon phase.
The 40mm case is in 18k rose gold, thin, fully polished and softly domed, with that continuous curve running through the lugs, bezel and case back that gives the 1966 line its quiet elegance. It sits close to the wrist and reads as a proper dress watch rather than a statement piece.
The silver dial keeps things equally restrained, with day, date and month all readable at a glance and the moon phase taking its place at six o'clock. Paired with the black alligator strap and rose gold buckle, the whole watch has that understated formality that makes it easy to wear well beyond special occasions.
Behind the sapphire case back sits Girard-Perregaux's own automatic full calendar movemen cal. GP03300, built from close to 300 components. It is exactly the kind of manufacture caliber that justifies looking twice at a watch like this, precise, robust and entirely developed in house.
This example is in very good condition, comes complete with its original box and papers, and has no documented service history so far.
"A quietly though complicated dress watch for anyone who wants real watchmaking behind a classic face.“
