F.P.JOURNE Octa Lune, 38mm, 18k Rose Gold, Gold Movement, Silver Dial, Box and Papers, Year 2009, Excellent

Produced between 2004 and 2015, the Octa Lune reaches for one of watchmaking's most poetic complications, the moon phase, and does it inside François-Paul Journe's own automatic Octa architecture, the movement family that became the manufacture's bestseller from the very start. 

The case is 18k rose gold, a compact 38mm and just 10.3mm thick, worn on an alligator strap secured with a matching rose gold tang buckle, keeping the watch genuinely wearable despite the density of what it displays.

The silver dial follows Journe's signature off-center layout, with an off-center guilloché silver subdial for the hours and minutes, a big date at twelve o'clock, the moon phase inscribed "Phases de Lune" following the curve of its own aperture, and the manufacture's own "Invenit et Fecit" signature beneath the power reserve indicator at nine, Latin for "invented and made," a nod to century-old signing conventions.

Inside runs the caliber 1300.2, one of the earlier Octa Lune movements built during the brand's transition from brass to solid rose gold construction, with a 22k gold rotor and a genuine 120 hours of power reserve, finished entirely by hand.

The 38mm case model with 22k gold movement was made in a small three digit number and followed the firt one with brass movement.
