Breitling Chronomat 44 GMT "Patrouille Suisse 50th Anniversary" Ref. AB04203J/BD29, Stainless Steel, Limited Edition of 1000 Pieces, 2014, Breitling Service 2023
Breitling and aviation belong together, and few partnerships show that as clearly as the one with the Patrouille Suisse, the aerobatic team of the Swiss Air Force. In 2014 the team celebrated its 50th anniversary, in the same year the Swiss Air Force turned 100. Breitling marked the occasion with this special Chronomat 44 GMT, limited to 1000 pieces.
The 44 mm case is made of satin-brushed stainless steel and water resistant to 200 meters. The rotating bezel with inlaid rubber numerals carries a 24-hour scale, which lets you read a third time zone. On the caseback you'll find the engraved official 50th anniversary logo together with the limited edition number, on this example 7XX/1000.
The black dial carries the Patrouille Suisse logo at 9 o'clock. The real highlight is the GMT hand: its tip is shaped like a red F-5E Tiger, the fighter jet the team flies in its displays. It is a small detail that every aviation enthusiast will love, and it shows the second time zone on the 24-hour scale. Together with the three chronograph counters and the date, the dial stays clear and very functional.
Inside works the Breitling manufacture caliber B04, a self-winding chronograph movement with GMT function, developed and produced entirely by Breitling. It is chronometer certified by the COSC and offers a power reserve of more than 70 hours. The watch sits on a stainless steel bracelet.
The watch dates from 2014 and is in excellent condition. It was freshly serviced by Breitling in September 2023 and comes with the Breitling service box and the service invoice.
