We are delighted to present this elegant and highly collectible Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Lady Ref. 8638SA, a refined vintage ladies’ timepiece from the legendary Swiss manufacture Audemars Piguet.

Produced in around 1979-1982, this beautiful example features the classic bi-metal combination of stainless steel and 18k yellow gold, a configuration that perfectly captures the distinctive design language of the early Royal Oak models. Preserved in excellent condition and accompanied by its original box, this watch represents a rare opportunity to acquire an early ladies’ Royal Oak from the formative years of the collection.

The instantly recognizable Royal Oak case is defined by its octagonal bezel secured with eight hexagonal screws, a groundbreaking design originally introduced in 1972 by the legendary watch designer Gérald Genta. Even in its elegant ladies’ size, the watch retains the bold architectural character and unmistakable presence that made the Royal Oak one of the most influential watch designs of the 20th century.

The dial features the iconic “Petite Tapisserie” pattern, a finely textured guilloché motif that adds depth and sophistication to the watch’s appearance. Gold hour markers and matching hands complement the two-tone case and bracelet, creating a harmonious and timeless aesthetic.
