AUDEMARS PIGUET Royal Oak "Fondation", Reference 14990ST.O.0789ST.01, Limited Edition, Stainless Steel, Box and Papers, Year 2000, Excellent
Created to support the Royal Oak Foundation's "Time for the Trees" initiative for forest preservation, this reference stands as one of the most historically meaningful limited editions Audemars Piguet has ever produced, restricted to just 250 pieces worldwide.
The 36mm stainless steel case keeps every proportion of the classic Royal Oak, the octagonal bezel secured by eight hexagonal white gold screws, a screw-down crown and an exhibition case back, worn on the integrated steel bracelet.
The navy blue Clous-de-Paris tapisserie dial carries the discreet "Fondation" signature above the Audemars Piguet name, the detail that immediately sets this piece apart from a standard Royal Oak, paired with tritium-filled steel baton hour markers and matching hands.
Inside runs the caliber 2225, a rhodium-plated automatic movement with 35 jewels and fausses côtes decoration, its 21k gold rotor specially engraved with a tree motif and the "Time for the Trees" foundation logo, a small but poignant detail visible only through the display back.
