The 40 mm Oyster case, manufactured in robust stainless steel, reflects the purposeful engineering required for military use. Unlike standard civilian Submariners, the MilSub variants were specially modified to meet the strict specifications of the UK Ministry of Defence, resulting in a watch that is both historically significant and functionally distinct.

One of the defining characteristics of this reference is its original tritium dial, featuring the iconic circled “T” signature, denoting the use of tritium lume in compliance with military regulations.
