Rolex GMT-Master - ref. 16700 - Year 1992

Produced in 1992, this Rolex GMT-Master Ref. 16700 represents the final evolution of the original GMT line before the transition to the GMT-Master II. Featuring the classic black and red "Coke" bezel, this reference delivers all the vintage charm of the early pilot’s watches with the added benefits of sapphire crystal and updated movement.

The 40mm stainless steel case retains its original proportions, fitted with a bi-directional aluminum bezel insert that has developed subtle character over time. The black gloss dial with white gold surrounds remains clean and well-preserved, offering excellent legibility and timeless appeal.

Powered by the Caliber 3175, the 16700 is unique in offering the simplicity of a true GMT function - adjusting the 24-hour hand independently while the local hour hand remains fixed. This makes it both historically significant and mechanically distinct from its GMT-Master II successors.
