Discontinued but awesome OMEGA SPEEDMASTER that has spectacular skeletonised dial that shows the surface of the moon.

Through the exhibition caseback you can see hand wound movement 1869 that shows the namegiving dark side of the moon thanks to a blackend and laser-ablated finish.

This watch is a reminesence to the APOLLO 8, the first mission that send man to the moon, not to land but to orbit the moon ten times.

On the first entering the Astronaut James Lovell replied to Mission Control "We'll see you on the other side.” which is now engraved on the caseback of the watch, together with the “Apollo 8, Dec 1968 and the name giving “DARK SIDE OF THE MOON”

Despite the 44,25mm case diameter the watch is very comfortable to wear and seems smaller on the wrist.

The Chronograph hands and the hour dots are painted in a nice contrasting yellow. The luminous mass is Superluminova and was built into the minute, hour and chronograph second hands and also into the Tachymeter scale of the bezel, a realy nice feature.
