Manufactured in 1979 in the third batch (C) aberter A and B.
This iconic GERALD GENTA design was propably the most important watches for AP and the whole swiss watch industry.
First waterproof gentlemen watch with a super flat automatic 2121 caliber movement. It was the start of a still ongoning development for sportive watches beyond ROLEX OYSTER models. Shortly later the PATEK NAUTILUS and the IWC INGENIEUR were also succesfully introduced - both too from the divine hand of GERALD GENTA.
Today the ROYAL OAK and all the spin-off models are the backbone of the AP company and represent of the perfect the sportive gentlemen watch.
