ROLEX Vintage GMT-MASTER Ref. 1675 - Pepsi (red back) Bezel - Stainless Steel - Bj 1964
An outstanding example of the iconic Rolex GMT-Master Reference 1675, manufactured in 1964 and presented in very good condition. This early and increasingly sought-after vintage sports model combines exceptional historical significance with some of the most desirable characteristics of the first-generation GMT-Master.
The watch features the highly attractive red-and-blue “Pepsi” bezel insert (red back), housed in a stainless steel case with the distinctive pointed crown guards (PCG). It is fitted with a beautiful original black gilt Underline dial, complemented by its original Tritium hands and hour markers, all displaying the authentic character and patina of a genuine vintage Rolex.
Particularly desirable details of this early example include the small GMT hand, the rare pointed crown guard case design and the folded-link stainless steel Oyster bracelet with matching clasp code 3-65, further reinforcing its period-correct character.
Originally developed in collaboration with Pan American World Airways (Pan Am), the Rolex GMT-Master was designed to meet the needs of international pilots, allowing them to simultaneously track multiple time zones. Over the decades, it has evolved into one of Rolex's most iconic and recognizable professional sports watches.
With its early production year, attractive original gilt Underline dial, classic Pepsi bezel and highly desirable period details, this Reference 1675 represents a particularly appealing opportunity for collectors of important vintage Rolex sports models.
