We are proud to offer this outstanding vintage Rolex Submariner Date, reference 1680/8, in solid 18K yellow gold with its gold Oyster bracelet — a rare and historically significant example of Rolex’s first-ever gold Submariner, presented here in superb condition with its original Rolex presentation box.

A cornerstone in the evolution of the Submariner line, the reference 1680/8 was introduced in 1969 and marked Rolex’s bold entry into the world of luxury dive watches. It was the first Submariner offered in solid gold, blending professional-grade tool watch functionality with precious metal sophistication.

This example features a flawless, highly coveted original black tritium “nipple” dial with gilt text, characteristic of early gold 1680s.

The matching solid 18K yellow gold Oyster case, bezel, and bracelet are remarkably well-preserved, retaining excellent definition.
