Rolex Vintage Milgauss – Reference 1019 – Stainless Steel – Silver Dial – Riveted Bracelet – Circa 1968 - Scientific Heritage Meets Iconic Vintage Design
We are proud to offer this rare and highly collectible Rolex Milgauss Ref. 1019, crafted in stainless steel with a silver dial and fitted on its original riveted Oyster bracelet, dating to circa 1968.
Originally developed in the 1950s for engineers and scientists exposed to strong magnetic fields, the Milgauss was named after its ability to withstand up to 1,000 gauss of magnetic interference — an innovation that solidified Rolex’s commitment to technical excellence. The Ref. 1019, introduced in 1960 and produced until the late 1980s, is the last of the original vintage Milgauss references.
Housed in a 38mm stainless steel case, the watch features the clean and understated silver dial variant with simple baton hour markers and no lightning bolt seconds hand — a nod to Rolex’s refined, professional design language during this era. Beneath the surface lies the Caliber 1580, protected by a soft iron Faraday cage to guard against magnetic fields, underscoring the Milgauss' tool-watch pedigree.
This particular example remains in outstanding vintage condition, with a strong case profile, beautiful patina on the tritium lume, and its original riveted bracelet showing light, even wear consistent with age.
An increasingly rare opportunity to own one of Rolex’s most under-the-radar tool watches, representing both the scientific spirit of the 20th century and the enduring quality of vintage Rolex craftsmanship.
A cornerstone piece for the serious vintage Rolex connoisseur.
