ROLEX GMT-Master "Coke", Reference 16700, Tritium Dial, Stainless Steel, Black and Red Bezel, Box, Year 1994, S-Series

The 16700 was the last GMT-Master built before Rolex handed the collection over entirely to the GMT-Master II, offered alongside its successor for years thanks to a thinner case and lighter weight many collectors still prefer today.

The 40mm steel case carries drilled lugs, thick crown guards and a screw-down Twinlock crown, worn on its Oyster bracelet reference 78360, with the non-independent 24 hour hand linked directly to the hour hand, the one functional distinction from the later GMT-Master II.

The black and red "Coke" bezel gives this example a distinctly different character from the more common Pepsi configuration, paired with a tritium dial that has aged into an even, honest patina true to its S-series production window from 1994.

Inside runs the caliber 3175, the automatic movement that succeeded the 3075 while keeping the same dependable GMT function Rolex relied on for over a decade on this reference.
