ROLEX Vintage DAYTONA COSMOGRAPH Reference 6263

We are delighted to offer you this very good vintage Rolex Daytona Cosmograph in stainless steel on its stainless steel Oyster bracelet with folding clasp.

Manufactured in 1975, bearing a serial number beginning with 3999xxx this particular Daytona holds distinguished military provenance—originally delivered to the Peruvian Air Force. The caseback has an engraving saying “Fuerza Aera Del Peru” and the serial number is not only engraved between the 12 o`clock lugs but alos on the inside of the caseback.

Rolex has a rich history of supplying timepieces to elite military forces, but among these, the Peruvian Air Force stands alone as the only recipient of the Reference 6263 Daytona.

The watch features an original black Sigma dial, well preserved with some minor discoloration on the sub dials. The original Tritium luminous dots habe faded out, but still glowing under black light. The Tritium hands are fully intact. Completing its authenticity are the original black acrylic bezel and correct screw-down pushers, hallmark features of the iconic 6263 reference.

Not only is the 6263 DAYTONA model one milestone of a chronograph, but with its military provenance an outstanding and quite rare collectors item.

Marked with H, the mounted Oyster bracelet was built later in 1983.
