We are delighted to present this historically significant Rolex GMT-Master II, Reference 16760 - the very first iteration of the GMT-Master II series, affectionately known among collectors as the “Fat Lady” or “Sophia Loren.”

The 40 mm stainless steel Oyster case is notably thicker than its predecessors, a design necessity to house the then-new movement. This increased case height and larger crown guards give the 16760 a unique, muscular presence on the wrist that distinguishes it from any other GMT-Master. Framing the dial is the iconic bidirectional rotating bezel with the "Coke" (red and black) aluminum insert, a color combination that made its world debut with this specific reference.

The deep black glossy dial features restored luminous material indices and Super-Luminova hands, with the classic four-hand configuration. Protected by a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal - another first for the GMT line - the dial remains highly legible and captures the perfect transition between vintage charm and modern utility. The date window at 3 o'clock, magnified by the signature Cyclops lens, completes the classic Rolex aesthetic.

At the heart of the "Fat Lady" beats the Rolex Caliber 3085. This movement was revolutionary, introducing the independently adjustable hour hand. This "true" GMT functionality allows the wearer to set the local time without stopping the movement or disturbing the 24-hour hand, making it the ultimate tool for pilots and world travelers.
