ROLEX Cosmograph Daytona – Ref. 16520 – Stainless Steel – White Tritium Dial – Automatic – Box & Papers – A-Series – 2000 – Unworn Full Set – Green Blinking Sticker - Rare
We are proud to present this exceptional and unworn Rolex Cosmograph Daytona, reference 16520 in stainless steel with steel Oyster Bracelet.
The watch is featuring the coveted white Tritium dial. This final-series A-prefix example, dating from 2000, is offered as a complete full set with original box, papers, booklets, and the intact green caseback blinking sticker—a truly remarkable collector’s piece in untouched condition.
The Ref. 16520 holds a special place in the history of Rolex chronographs, representing the pinnacle of the Zenith-era Daytona before the introduction of the fully in-house caliber. Produced between 1988 and 2000, the 16520 was the first automatic Daytona, powered by the Caliber 4030, a Rolex-modified Zenith El Primero movement. These final A-series pieces mark the very end of this celebrated generation and are among the most desirable of all steel automatic Daytonas.
The white Tritium dial—correct for early A-series production—features applied steel hour markers with luminous plots that have begun to show a soft, creamy tone, a hallmark of originality. The subdials are surrounded by crisp black rings, maintaining the perfect contrast that defines the classic Daytona aesthetic.
The 40mm stainless steel Oyster case remains completely unworn and retains its factory finish, sharp bevels, and full proportions. Only the A-Series and P-Series have the modern links beteen the bracelet and the watch. Stickers also on the bracelet.
The tachymeter bezel, calibrated to 400 units per hour, remains pristine, while the original green holographic sticker on the caseback confirms its untouched state.
Inside beats the Rolex Caliber 4030, a chronometer-rated automatic chronograph movement based on the Zenith El Primero, meticulously re-engineered by Rolex for enhanced reliability and precision—marking a key transitional moment in the Daytona lineage.
This unworn full set includes:
- Original Rolex box
- Guarantee certificate (dated 2000, A-series)
- Chronometer tag & untouched green hologram caseback sticker
- Booklets
- plastic bezel protector
"A truly museum-quality example of one of Rolex’s most historically important modern chronographs, this Daytona Ref. 16520 A-series represents the final evolution of the Zenith-powered era—an unworn time capsule that embodies rarity, provenance, and absolute collectibility!"
