Rolex Cosmograph Daytona "John Mayer" Ref. 116508, 18k Yellow Gold, Green Dial, 2019, Wempe Germany

Some watches get their nickname from a detail, others from the person who made them famous. The green Daytona in yellow gold owes its name to celebrated guitarist and passionate watch aficionado John Mayer, who helped turn it into one of the most wanted modern Rolex watches. Green and gold have a long history at Rolex, and in this Daytona the combination feels bold, warm and incredibly elegant.

The 40 mm Oyster case is made of 18 karat yellow gold. The gold bezel carries the engraved tachymeter scale that has defined the Daytona since the 1960s. With its screw-down pushers and the Triplock crown, the watch is water resistant to 100 meters.

The green sunburst dial is the heart of this watch. In bright light it shows a rich, vivid green, in the shade it turns deep and almost dark. The black counters with gold frames give the dial structure and contrast, while the applied gold markers and hands pick up the tone of the case. It is a dial that looks expensive in the best possible way.

Inside works the caliber 4130, the chronograph movement Rolex developed and builds entirely in house. It has a column wheel and vertical clutch, needs fewer parts than a conventional chronograph and runs for around 72 hours on a full wind.

The solid yellow gold Oyster bracelet closes with the Oysterlock safety clasp and the Easylink extension, which gives you about 5 mm of extra length whenever you need it.

The watch dates from 2019 and was originally sold by Wempe in Germany. The LC100 code confirms that it was delivered for the german market. It is in very good condition and comes with box and papers, green card holder.
