Rolex Cosmograph Daytona Ref. 116508, 18k Yellow Gold, Dark Mother of Pearl Dial with Diamond Hour Markers, Box & Papers 2020, Excellent Condition

A Daytona in yellow gold is already a statement. With a dark mother of pearl dial and diamond hour markers, it becomes one of the most refined versions of the modern Daytona. The 116508 shows that a racing chronograph can also be a piece of jewelry, and it pulls that off with surprising ease.

The 40 mm Oyster case is made of 18 karat yellow gold. The gold bezel carries the engraved tachymeter scale, the classic Daytona feature that lets you measure average speed over a set distance. The screw-down pushers and the Triplock crown make the watch water resistant to 100 meters.

The wonderful dial is where this watch really stands out. Dark mother of pearl is a natural material, so every dial has its own pattern and play of colors. Depending on the light it shifts between deep gray, blue and violet tones. The diamond hour markers add sparkle, while the gold frames of the three counters tie the dial to the case. No two of these dials look exactly alike, which gives each watch its own character.

Inside works the caliber 4130, the chronograph movement Rolex developed and builds entirely in house. It has a column wheel and vertical clutch, needs fewer components than a conventional chronograph and offers around 72 hours of power reserve.

The solid yellow gold Oyster bracelet closes with the Oysterlock safety clasp and the Easylink extension, which gives you about 5 mm of extra length whenever you need it.

The watch dates from 2020, Germany, WEMPE and is in excellent condition.
