Patek Philippe Grand Complication Split-Seconds Chronograph Perpetual Calendar Ref. 5204P-011, 950 Platinum, Black Dial, 2016, Patek Philippe Service November 2025, Full Set
Among all the complications in watchmaking, the combination of a split-seconds chronograph and a perpetual calendar is one of the most demanding. Patek Philippe has a long tradition in it, and the reference 5204 marked a milestone: it was the first watch of its kind powered by a movement Patek Philippe developed entirely in house. It succeeded the legendary 5004, and with its clear, balanced dial it took the legibility of this grand complication to a new level. In 2014 Patek added this version with an ebony black dial, and it immediately became the most striking of them all.
The 40 mm case is made of 950 platinum. Like every platinum Patek Philippe, it carries a small diamond set into the case band between the lugs at 6 o’clock. Remarkably, the case is thinner than many simpler chronographs, which gives the watch an elegant presence despite its complexity. Through the sapphire caseback you can watch the movement at work.
The black opaline dial gives the watch a deep, calm background against which every indication stands out clearly. The applied white gold markers and luminous white gold hands are easy to read. The perpetual calendar shows the day, the month, the date, the moon phase, the leap year cycle and a day and night indicator, while the chronograph counters and the two central seconds hands complete the display.
Inside works the manually wound Patek Philippe caliber CHR 29-535 PS Q, with two column wheels controlling the chronograph and the split-seconds function. The split-seconds hand lets you time two events at once, for example two lap times, and catch up with the main chronograph hand at the push of a button. The perpetual calendar knows the different lengths of the months and the leap years, and it will not need a correction until 2100.
The watch is worn on a black alligator strap with a platinum Patek Philippe folding clasp.
The watch dates from 2016 and is in excellent condition. It was serviced by Patek Philippe in November 2025 and comes as a full set with box, papers and the service papers, big leaterh book, hang tag and 2nd back plus pin. The watch is still under full Patek warranty until nov. 2027!
"One of Patek Philippe’s grandest complications in platinum and black, a combination that is already for some years discontinued!"
Comes with a one-year warranty through our watch lab.
