This Panerai Mare Nostrum - Marina Militare, Reference PAM05218, is an exceptional homage to the legendary pre-Vendôme era, seamlessly blending hardcore military-issue aesthetics with high-performance modern horology. Accompanied by its original box and papers, and dated 2026 in a pristine, unworn condition, this timepiece captures the rugged soul of Panerai's historic naval diving instruments.

At its foundation is a robust 44-millimeter robust steel case enhanced with a durable Diamond-Like Carbon (DLC) coating. This deep black finish meticulously replicates the iconic PVD coating of the rare 1993 original, offering superior scratch resistance while preserving a stealthy matte appearance. The architecture is completed by Panerai's unmistakable, patented safety lock crown guard, ensuring exceptional water resistance and structural integrity.  

The dial serves as a direct tribute to vintage anomalies, featuring a matte black backdrop accented with trium-colored Super-LumiNova Arabic numerals and hour markers. This design thoughtfully recreates the sought-after "non-matching" discoloration effect found on early historical models - where a chemical reaction between tritium and varnish caused numerical markers to age into an orange-brown hue while hands retained a greenish tone.  

Powering this historical revival is the modern manual-wind P.6000 calibre, a reliable mechanical movement entirely manufactured by Panerai. Operating at 21,600 vibrations per hour, it delivers a robust 3-day power reserve from a single spring barrel, protected by an Incabloc® anti-shock device. Completing the authentic military-inspired profile is a vintage-shaped golden-brown calf leather strap with beige stitching, secured by a sandblasted black DLC trapezoidal sewn-in buckle, alongside an extra high-performance black rubber strap.
