Omega Vintage Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch - Reference ST 145.0022 - Leather & Steel Bracelet - Box & Papers 1995 - Excellent
An outstanding example of one of the most iconic chronographs ever produced, the Omega Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch, reference ST 145.0022, offered as a complete set with its original box and papers dated 1995.
Presented in excellent overall condition, this classic Moonwatch features a 42 mm stainless steel case with crisp lines and an exceptionally well-preserved appearance. The watch is fitted to a black leather strap with its original Omega stainless steel pin buckle, while also including the original Omega stainless steel bracelet, allowing the next owner to enjoy the watch in its authentic factory configuration.
The untouched original dial and matching tritium hands have aged naturally, developing the warm character and authenticity that collectors seek in vintage Speedmasters. The iconic black dial, Hesalite crystal, tachymeter bezel, and manually wound chronograph movement preserve the unmistakable charm of the classic Moonwatch.
Powering this Speedmaster is the celebrated Omega Calibre 861, the legendary hand-wound chronograph movement introduced in 1968 as the successor to the famous Calibre 321. It became one of Omega's longest-running and most respected movements, serving as the foundation for the later Calibres 1861 and today's 3861.
This reference ST 145.0022 is accompanied by:
- additional Omega stainless steel bracelet
- Original presentation box (aged) and outer box
- Original warranty card, 1995
- red card holder (aged)
- beautiful original tritium dial and matching tritium hands
Few watches can claim a place in history quite like the Omega Speedmaster. Originally introduced in 1957 as a motorsport chronograph, the Speedmaster earned worldwide fame after successfully passing NASA's demanding qualification tests for manned spaceflight. It became the only watch officially certified for every manned NASA mission. The Speedmaster reached legendary status on 20 July 1969, when Buzz Aldrin wore his Speedmaster on the lunar surface during the Apollo 11 mission, making it the first watch worn on the Moon.
The ST 145.0022 represents the final era of the classic tritium-equipped Moonwatch before Omega transitioned to modern luminous materials and later movement generations. Combining vintage charm, historical significance, and everyday reliability, it remains one of the most sought-after references among collectors.
Complete with its original box and papers, original Omega steel bracelet, leather strap with Omega pin buckle, and its beautiful original tritium dial, this exceptional 1995 example offers an increasingly rare opportunity to acquire one of the world's most iconic and historically significant chronographs.
