JAEGER-LECOULTRE Master Geographic, Reference Q1422420, 18k Rose Gold, Folding Clasp, Year 2002, JLC Service 2026, Mint
The Master Geographic sits at the practical end of Jaeger-LeCoultre's Master Control collection, a genuine traveler's watch built around a world time function that stays legible and easy to operate rather than complicated for its own sake.
The beautiful case has a lever to open the back (were you can admire the movement under glass) is 18k rose gold, a compact 38mm with polished, downturned lugs and an angled flat bezel, worn on an new alligator leather strap secured by a matching 18k rose gold double deployment buckle. Switching between the 24 reference cities is handled through the crown at ten o'clock, rotating the world time disc without needing to touch the main crown used for winding and setting.
The silver dial keeps everything organized with real clarity, gold dart hour markers around a printed minute track, a power reserve arc between eight and eleven o'clock, a second time zone subdial at six with its own day and night indicator just above it, and a radial date display tucked between two and three. It is a genuinely busy dial that never actually feels cluttered, a hallmark of Jaeger-LeCoultre's design language on the Master Control range.
Inside runs the caliber 939, JLC's own automatic movement built from 310 components across 34 jewels, rhodium plated and finished with Côtes de Genève, running on a self-compensating free-sprung balance with a 22k gold rotor segment and hacking seconds for precise time setting. Power reserve sits at around 40 hours.
