Franck Muller Cintrée Curvex Master Banker Ref. 6850 MB, Stainless Steel, Silver Arabic Dial, 2002, Excellent
The Master Banker was made for people who follow several markets at once. It shows three different time zones on a single dial, which made it a favorite among bankers and frequent travelers from the moment it appeared. What makes it truly clever is the way it works: all three times are set with just one crown. Franck Muller turned a complicated idea into something wonderfully simple, and that is exactly why this watch became one of the brand’s great classics.
The case has the famous Cintrée Curvex shape, the curved tonneau that has become Franck Muller’s signature. It is made of stainless steel and follows the curve of the wrist, so it sits very comfortably despite its presence.
The silver dial carries the large, curved Arabic numerals in the typical Franck Muller style. The main time is shown by the central hands, while two additional subdials display the second and third time zones, each with its own hours and minutes. Despite all this information, the dial stays clear and easy to read, which is no small achievement.
Inside works a self-winding movement with the patented Master Banker mechanism. By pulling the single crown to different positions, you can set each time zone independently. It is an elegant solution that makes changing time zones quick and intuitive.
It is worn on a black leather strap with FM steel pin buckle.
The watch dates from around 2002 and is in excellent condition.
"Three time zones (for eager stock broker), one crown and one of the most recognizable case shapes in watchmaking!"
