Chopard L'Heure du Diamant Ref. 139284-5002, 18k Rose Gold, Mother of Pearl Dial with Diamonds, 2012

Chopard is as much a jeweler as a watchmaker, and in the L'Heure du Diamant you can see both sides at once. The collection was made for women who want a watch that is also a real piece of jewelry. This example takes that idea very seriously. In total it carries 144 diamonds with more than 12 carats, and every stone is documented with a GIA certificate. Watches with a setting like this are rarely offered.

The rectangular case is made of 18 karat rose gold. The big 32 diamonds are set all around the case Together they weigh   11.71 ct, which means each stone is of a considerable size. The warm tone of the rose gold makes the white diamonds look even brighter, while the clean rectangular shape keeps the whole design calm and elegant.

The dial is made of mother of pearl, and its natural shimmer changes with every movement of the wrist. It is set with 112 small diamonds weighing 0.34 ct in total. Against the soft glow of the mother of pearl the stones add sparkle without making the dial restless. The slim hands stay easy to read.

Inside works a reliable quartz movement, which makes sense for a watch like this. 

This impressive watch dates from 2012 and is in excellent condition. It comes with box and papers, and the GIA certificates for all stones are included. For a setting of this size that is a real plus, because you know exactly what you are buying, stone by stone.

The watch is accompanied by a Choprd box, the original warranty papers and GIA certificated for the big stones.
