Cartier Tank Cintrée Ref. WHTA0037, 18k Yellow Gold, Cartier Privé “La Collection”, Golden Opanline Dial, 2026, Unworn, Full Set

Of all the Tank models, the Cintrée may be the most romantic. Louis Cartier introduced it in 1921, and its name means “curved” in French. The long, slender case arches gently so that it follows the shape of the wrist, a bold idea at a time when most watches were still flat and round. In 2026, Cartier marked the tenth edition of its Cartier Privé series by launching “La Collection”, a line that brings together the most emblematic designs from Cartier Privé, all with manual-wind movements and in yellow gold.

The case is made of 18 karat yellow gold and measures 46.3 x 23 mm, with a height of only 6.95 mm. It is long and elegant, and thanks to its curve it sits perfectly on the wrist despite its length. The beaded crown is set with a sapphire cabochon, the signature of every Cartier watch. The solid gold caseback is engraved with a stylized outline of the Cintrée case, a detail shared by all pieces of La Collection.

The opaline dial with its golden finish carries grey Roman numerals that stretch along the elongated case, the classic railway track minute ring and blued steel apple-shaped hands, a beautiful nod to Cartier’s watches from the golden age of the 1920s. The beautiful and light golden tone of the dial blends seamlessly with the yellow gold case, and the blued hands stand out beautifully against it. The design is pure and timeless, as only a Tank can be.

Inside works the Cartier manufacture caliber 1917 MC, a manually wound movement made specifically for Cartier’s shaped cases. Its name is a tribute to the year the Tank was born. Winding it by hand is part of the charm of this watch.

It is worn on a dark grey alligator strap with an 18 karat yellow gold Cartier pin buckle.

The watch dates from 2026 and is unworn. It was purchased from a Cartier boutique and comes as a full set with box and papers. Cartier warranty until may, 2028!
